The basic safety measures

Following preventions and cautions describe the basic safety measures which are necessary for observing at car service.

These safety measures are applicable to the majority of service operations described in the given management, and, it is not obligatory that they will repeat in each operation where they should be observed.

At a car raising necessarily follow the instructions described in subsection of the Place of lifting of the car in the Head the General information. When for carrying out of service works it is necessary that the engine worked, make sure that the manual brake and a transmission is active is in neutral position for cars with МКПП and in position «P» for cars with АКПП. Hold hands, hair, clothes, the tool etc. far away from fans and belts at the working engine.

If it is necessary that the engine worked indoors, make sure that the extract for exhaust gases works.

Do not perform service works in places where flammable materials can have contact to hot final system. At work with toxic and легковоспламеняемыми materials (such as gasoline and a coolant), provide good ventilation of a workplace.

To avoid burns, steer clear of hot metal details, such as a radiator, a final collector, an exhaust pipe, the muffler etc.

The new and fulfilled engine oil can be dangerous. Children and pets can suffer, if take a sip the new or fulfilled oil. Store the new both fulfilled oil and oil filters far away from children and pets. At long contact to the fulfilled oil the skin cancer at laboratory animals has been revealed. Short-term contact to the fulfilled oil can cause irritation of a skin. To reduce irritating influence from contact to the fulfilled oil put on the uniform with long sleeves and water-proof gloves (such, as for ware washing) at engine oil replacement. At contact of engine oil to a skin, carefully wash out water with soap. Erase all clothes and rags on which oil has got, reuse or correctly utilise the fulfilled oil and filters.

Check up that the cowl is completely closed and will latch before a trip. If is not present, it can unexpectedly open during driving, complicating the review that can lead to failure.

Before the beginning of any service operation, cover wings of the car, a seat and all parts of the car which can be scratched or soiled in an operating time. Also you should show consideration for the clothes since, for example, buttons can damage car polishing.
During work after the electrician which do not demand use of the storage battery, disconnect the minus plug from АКБ.
At removal АКБ, disconnect in the beginning the minus plug, and then плюсовую. At connection АКБ, connect in the beginning плюсовую the plug, and then minus after that dress a cover.
At removal of spare parts which will be repeatedly used, put them one after another that then to establish them in correct sequence on places.
At use of epiploons, linings, consolidations, the sealing rings, blocking washers, шплинтов, самоконтрящихся nuts and some other spare parts, it is necessary to replace them with the new. Also before installation of new linings, consolidations, etc. carefully remove the rests of a material with стыковочных surfaces.

Check up that all used spare parts ideally pure.

At lubricant or hermetic use, check up that it of the specified type.

At a detachment of vacuum hoses, paste a label with the description of a correct adjusting position, for correct subsequent assemblage.
After service of fuel, oil, vacuum, exhaust, brake systems and cooling system, check up all contours of the connected systems on leaks.

At work with the cars equipped инжекторной with fuel system, never separate a contour between the fuel pump and an injector without preliminary dump of pressure since fuel can scatter under pressure.
