The top shaft of a steering (at not a cabriolet)
|
|
Never turn a steering wheel at the removed top shaft of a steering. If the such occurs, and centering of a contact winding will be broken (on подрулевых switches), it is necessary to align it again. Besides, if to turn a steering wheel more, than on two and a half a turn, the contact winding will break. |
Removal
|
|
- Turn a steering wheel so that forward wheels of the car looked directly forward.
- Turn the ignition switch in position “LOCK” and take out a key.
|
|
- Put levelling labels (3) on муфте a shaft (2) and on a shaft (from outside the top steering shaft) that then on them correctly to establish a shaft.
|
|
|
- Having unscrewed a bolt (4) from the top party муфты a shaft (2) and having weakened a bolt (5) from the bottom party of a shaft, pull муфту a shaft (2) towards the bottom shaft (as shown arrows in drawing).
|
|
|
- Unscrew a bolt (1) and a nut (2) top муфты the top steering shaft.
|
- Unscrew fixing bolts (4 pieces) top steering shaft.
- Remove the top steering shaft from the car.

Survey
Check up serviceability of a shaft of a steering as it is described more low in the given Chapter in Section Check of a steering column and the top shaft of a steering on presence of damages at failure (at not a cabriolet).
Installation
|
|
- Be convinced that forward wheels and a steering wheel are in the position corresponding to rectilinear movement of the car.
|
|
- Establish the top steering shaft on an epiploon insert. Tighten fixing bolts (1) top steering shaft to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling. The inhaling moment: fixing bolts of the top steering shaft — (a): 23 Н•м (2.3 kg th, 17.0 pounds-foots).

|
|
- Put on муфту a steering shaft (1) the top shaft (2), having combined the labels (3) put before removal of a shaft.
|
|
|
- Insert a bolt муфты a shaft (the top party of a shaft) (2) in муфту a steering shaft (1). At first tighten a bolt муфты a shaft (the top party of a shaft) (2) to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling, and then a bolt муфты a shaft (the bottom party of a shaft) (3) to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling. The inhaling moment: a bolt муфты a steering shaft — (): 25 Н•м (2.5 kg th, 18.0 pounds-foots).

- Combine a point “A” a steering column (1) with an aperture for a bolt “B” top муфты the top steering shaft. Then connect top муфту the top steering shaft.

|
|
- Take new a bolt (2) top муфты the top steering shaft and a nut (1). Tighten a nut (1) top муфты the top steering shaft to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling. The inhaling moment: a nut top муфты the top steering shaft — (a): 23 Н•м (2.3 kg th, 17.0 pounds-foots).
