Steering column (at not a cabriolet)
|
|
When the steering column is removed from the car, it is very easy for damaging.
If it to drop vertically, the steering shaft can break or can ослабнуть plastic pins which regulate length of a column; if against it to lean, it can be bent or deformed. Any of the listed damages can worsen ударопоглощающие properties of a column.
Weakening fixing bolts and nuts of a steering column, be convinced that the steering column and the top steering shaft are separated. If before easing of fixing bolts and nuts a steering column and the top steering shaft not to separate, it can damage top муфту and fixing скобу the top steering shaft.

At carrying out of service of a steering column or any knots established on it it is necessary to remove a steering wheel. But if the steering column acts in film to provide only access to components of the panel of tools, the steering wheel can to be removed from a column. |
Removal
|
|
Never put a column vertically on a steering wheel turned downwards by the module (надува) of a pillow of safety. It can lead to a trauma. |
|
|
Never turn a steering wheel when the steering column and a steering wheel are removed. Turn of a steering wheel more, than on two and a half a turn, will break the contact coil. |
|
|
- Disconnect "minus" (–) a battery cable.
- Disconnect system of a pillow of safety. Preventions in the beginning of the given Chapter see.
- Remove a steering wheel and the contact coil with подрулевыми switches if it is required. Sections the Steering wheel and the Contact coil and подрулевые switches See in the given Chapter.
- If a steering wheel and-or подрулевые switches remain on a place, execute following manipulations:
- Turn a steering wheel so that forward wheels of the car looked directly forward.
- Turn the ignition switch in position “LOCK” and take out a key.

- Uncover a steering column (1).
|
- Disconnect all cables of following knots:
- The contact coil and подрулевых switches.
- The ignition switch.
|
|
- Remove a bolt (1) and a nut (2) top муфты the top steering shaft.
|
|
|
- Remove fixing bolts (2 pieces) (2) and nuts (2 pieces) (3) steering columns (1).
|
|
|
- If there is a cable of blocking of the switch (key) (1), disconnect it from the ignition switch, having turned the ignition switch in position “ACC”.
|
- After a detachment turn the ignition key in position “LOCK”.
- Remove a steering column from the car.
|
|
Survey
Check up serviceability of a steering column and presence of damages as it is described more low in the given Chapter in Section Check of a steering column and the top shaft of a steering on presence of damages at failure (at not a cabriolet).
Installation
|
|
After a tightening of fixing bolts of a steering column it is necessary to tighten bolts муфты a steering shaft. |
|
|
- Be convinced that position of forward wheels and a steering wheel correspond to rectilinear movement of the car.
|
|
- If there is a cable of blocking of the switch (key) (1), connect it to the ignition switch, having turned the ignition switch in position “ACC”. Then turn the ignition switch in position “LOCK”.
|
|
|
- Combine a point “A” a steering column (1) with an aperture for a bolt “B” top муфты the top steering shaft. Then connect top муфту the top steering shaft.
|
|
|
- Establish a steering column (1) contact top party bottom шлиц to fixing bolts. Tighten the bottom fixing nuts (3) steering columns, and then the top fixing bolts (2) to the specified values of the moment of an inhaling. The inhaling moment: fixing bolts and nuts of a steering column (b): 25 Н•м (2.5 kg th, 18.0 pounds-foots).

|
- Establish a bolt (2) top муфты the top steering shaft and a nut (1). Tighten a nut (1) top муфты the top steering shaft till the specified moment of an inhaling. The inhaling moment: a nut top муфты the top steering shaft — (a): 23 Н•м (2.3 kg th, 17.0 pounds-foots).

|
|
Do not use repeatedly a bolt and a nut top муфты the top shaft. For installation take new. |
- If have been removed the contact coil and подрулевые switches, establish them as it is described in the given Chapter in Section the Contact coil and подрулевые switches.
- Connect all cables which were disconnected at removal of a steering column.
|
|
- Establish a cover of an aperture of a steering column (1).
|
- If the steering wheel has been removed, establish it as the Steering wheel is described in the given Chapter in Section.
- Connect "minus" (–) a cable to the battery.
- After installation of a steering column check up that the system of a pillow of safety is included. Preventions in the beginning of the given Chapter see.
