Brake drum

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Examine a drum, how much it is pure. Check up deterioration of a brake surface, having measured its internal diameter.
    • Internal diameter of a brake drum
      • "a": the standard: 220 mm (8.66 inches)
    • Deterioration limit: 222 mm (8.74 inches)
  1. Each time at removal of brake drums it is necessary to clear and check carefully them, whether there are no cracks, notches, deep furrows.
  2. Drum with cracks, notches or grooves
  3. To use a drum with cracks it is unsafe, it is necessary to replace it.
  4. Do not try to weld треснутый a drum.
  5. Grind all lungs заcечки. Deep or extensive notches will cause superfluous deterioration of a brake overlay, therefore it will be necessary to cover a brake surface of a drum again. If brake overlays are a little worn out also a drum has grooves, it is necessary to polish a drum with a thin emery paper, but not to overturn.

When the drum is removed, examine, whether there is no leak of a brake liquid in the wheel cylinder. Eliminate leaks if they are.
